Citizen Pinoy Filming at Flamingo on Sunday, April 13, 2008

The Filipino Channel (TFC), which airs on Direct TV and Comcast with a viewership of more than 8.8 million, will film three (3) episodes of their show “Citizen Pinoy” at Flamingo South Beach. “Citizen Pinoy” is a talk show that focuses on issues surrounding immigration. One of the hosts is an immigration lawyer who answers questions from the audience and offers tips on immigrating to North America. The show also features stories of families reunited by immigration to the United States. The immigration topics and subject matter are universal and particularly applicable to the Miami population.

The show will be filmed on the South Tower pool deck with a studio audience of 150 per show. The shows filmed at Flamingo will be aired on April 20, 27 and May 4, 2008.

Mercury Marine @ Flamingo

VH1 Viva Hollywood Shoot

Over the weekend, VH1 cameras were spotted on the grounds of the Flamingo South Beach, filming scenes for their upcoming reality show “¡Viva Hollywood!”  Film crews were seen all over the property, shooting on the South Tower lanai overlooking Biscayne Bay, the courtyard and throughout the South Tower.  According to VH1, the show will feature aspiring telenovela stars, vying to prove their mastery of the “7 Deadly Sins of Telenovelas” to celebrity judges including actor and singer/songwriter Carlos Ponce and award-winning actress and singer Maria Conchita Alonso.  Additional guest celebrities will include Daisy Fuentes, Charo, and Perez Hilton.   The winner receives a prize package that includes a contract with Telemundo for a breakout role in an upcoming telenovela, a cash prize and a year’s lease at South Beach’s hottest condominium, the Flamingo South Beach.  www.flamingomiami.com

Luminarium Levity III @ Flamingo South Beach

The “Levity III” Luminarium – an inflatable, experiential, “structure sculpture” artistically designed to stun the senses with an interactive kaleidoscope of light and color. The Luminarium’s Levity III sculpture will be on display and open to the public during Art Basel at Miami Beach’s most well known address, Flamingo South Beach (www.flamingomiami.com). Levity III is a 10,000 sq. ft. inflatable labyrinth made up of connected tunnels and inspiring spacious domes – an interactive world of liquid, light and color. Levity III is an internationally acclaimed sculpture created by the world-renowned U.K.-based Architects of Air, whose inflatable works of art have dazzled more than a million people in 35 countries around the world. The Levity III sculpture is more than 200 ft. long, 100 ft. wide and 25 ft. high. It took 5,000 hours to build and used more than 6,000 individual pieces of fabric, 7,000 square yards of fabric, and 10 miles of seams to create this one-of-a-kind experience.
